This page is part of Assembly & Installation. It focuses on the supplied bed structure, with the remaining work identified from the actual model and its components.
Frame, Rails and Mattress Support
A bed may combine a headboard, footboard, side rails, legs and a separate mattress-support system. Other designs use a metal platform or an upholstered frame around the support structure. Those differences affect the assembly sequence and parts count. The product instructions determine which connections, support pieces and fasteners belong in the finished frame; an assembled-looking frame may still be missing a required component.
Check what the purchased package includes. A slatted base, center support or storage accessory may arrive in a separate box or be sold separately. Match the ordered bed size and support components before work begins. A mattress already in the room does not resolve whether the frame has its required base, and a component from an older bed should not be assumed to fit the new one.
Storage Beds and Bedroom Clearance
Under-bed drawers, pull-out sections and lift-up storage change the space needed around a bed. Consider the open position as well as the closed footprint. A bedside table, radiator or nearby wardrobe may obstruct access to storage even when the bed itself fits against the intended wall. Describe the chosen position and the direction in which the storage needs to open.
Allow working room for the frame components during assembly, with the mattress and bedding out of the immediate build area. Oversized headboards, narrow stairs and doors can affect how the pieces reach the bedroom. Carrying furniture from another floor, dismantling an existing bed or removing an old mattress should be listed as separate needs so the quote can address them explicitly.
Alignment and the Finished Configuration
A complete frame needs the connections and supports shown in its manual, including components that are hidden after the mattress is placed. The assembly review should address the frame’s alignment, fitted support pieces and any supplied adjustment features. Optional drawers or other accessories also need to match the intended configuration. Manufacturer instructions govern the details rather than a universal arrangement for every bed.
If the frame is already partly assembled, describe where the work stopped. Incorrectly fitted parts, a missing support and a damaged attachment point call for different next steps. Replacing broken structural components or repairing a used bed is separate from completing a sound kit. An existing wobble or creak should be reported without assuming that tightening one visible fastener will resolve it.
One Bed or a Complete Bedroom
The quote depends on the number of beds, their designs, storage additions and how much assembly remains. Include the product references for separate bedroom pieces so they are not lost within a single “bedroom set” description. Dresser and wardrobe assembly covers clothing storage, and baby and nursery furniture assembly is the appropriate route for a crib or nursery item.
A folding bed attached to the building is a different installation. Use Murphy and wall bed installation for that configuration. Powered adjustable bases and unusual mechanisms also need their exact model identified before scope is agreed; their presence should not be taken as confirmation that electrical work or specialist servicing is included.

Common Questions
Does every bed frame need a box spring?
No single mattress-support arrangement applies to every frame. Follow the bed and mattress manufacturers’ compatibility guidance. Some products use a specified slatted base or platform, and separately packaged supports can still be essential. Confirm those components before arranging assembly rather than choosing a base only by its outside dimensions.
Can the headboard from my old bed be reused?
Only compatible connections and manufacturer-supported combinations should be assumed. Provide both product references and photographs of the attachment points. Adapting a headboard, drilling new connections or fabricating brackets is different work from assembling the purchased frame and needs a separate assessment.
