STAIRS

There are two main types of stair systems: Open and Closed.

Open stairs (photos 1-5 above) have no vertical risers between the horizontal treads and you can see through the staircase. Closed stairs are with risers and often closed all around (photos 6-9 above).  Both stair systems can be encased in between the stair stringer (photos 2&3) or can extend beyond the stringer (photos 5&6).
